World Development Goals on Google Maps

MDG Maps

MDG Maps is a Google Maps based geovisulisation tool for the Millennium Development Goals. The Millennium Development Goals are indicators which were agreed by leaders from 189 nations to ensure: a world with less poverty, hunger and disease, greater survival prospects for mothers and their infants, better educated children, equal opportunities for women, and a healthier environment.

The map uses data from the Millennium Development Goals dataset at the World Bank Data website. Using the map it is possible to visualise all the datasets on a Google Map.

The map sidebar organises the relevant datasets into the eight main development goals. Selecting any of the relevant targets loads the data onto the Google Map. Each of the datasets includes a time-line so that you can view the data for each year from 1990-2007.
